Technical Excellence

Technomics offers free, monthly training sessions to teach material from the Cost Estimating Book of Knowledge (CEBoK) ® through the Technomics Training Institute (TTI). These sessions, taught by cost estimating professionals, help prepare analysts for the International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA) Professional Cost Estimator/Analysts (PCEA) and Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCEA) exams. TTI topics span overviews of Estimation, cost estimation techniques, analytical methods, specialized costing, and management applications. 

TTI is held the second Tuesday of every month at the Technomics Headquarters in Crystal City, Virginia. If you are interested in attending a TTI session, please contact Peter Braxton at tti@technomics.net.

Galaxy Charts™ is a unique hierarchical data visualization technique developed by Technomics. A great example of Technomics employee-owner innovation, initiative, and teamwork, Galaxy Charts™ is a novel approach to efficiently and effectively identifying what data is really important and what is not. Recently patented, Galaxy Charts™ was borne out of Technomics employee-owner frustration with a client who was having challenges seeing the forest for the trees. In short, the client was overwhelmed by a large volume of very detailed, hierarchical data organized in rows/columns and spending an inordinate amount of his and other organizations' time thinking about specific data elements that simply did not matter. So, motivated by doing the right thing for the client, taxpayers, and Technomics and empowered to innovate with Technomics internal funds, three employee-owners developed a tool that depicts all hierarchical data elements, magnitude, and relationships in one chart and, in doing so, leverages the strengths of pie, pareto, and comb charts.  In addition to the free Galaxy Charts™ download, the web link includes the paper that received the Best Overall Paper Award at the 2012 Society of cost Estimating & Analysis (SCEA)/International Society of Parametric Analysts (ISPA) conference.
