At the risk of stating the obvious, the credibility, defensibility, and corresponding value of advice delivered by the cost analysis community to decision makers in government and industry is dependent on analyst competency.  From my vantage point as former President/CEO and current Technical Director of an organization that routinely demonstrates through its actions an enduring commitment to improving this community of practice (COP), I fear that an increasing number of ‘professionals’ in our community aren’t doing their jobs as well as they should.

The NextGen Cost Estimating and Analysis group works within the Meetup community to orchestrate professional seminars that highlight speakers who are leaders in our industry.  The purpose of this external group is to facilitate intellectual and collaborative discussions regarding data analytics, new technology, professional development, and continuous improvement.  Anyone in the data analytics or cost estimating community is welcome to attend and stands to gain insight from these thoughtfully selected keynote speakers.  Technomics is proud to serve and support the cost estimating and analysis community by hosting external initiatives like the NextGen Meetup group.

Throughout our history, Technomics has always had the utmost respect and appreciation for its clients, both civilian and military. To give our thanks, we have served the community through participation in various events: from packaging food donations at the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) to manning water stations at the Army Ten-Miler race. Additionally, at the end of October we completed a relaunch of our Community Service program with the intent of creating new service opportunities that are meaningful and impactful.

Every company has its own traditions and ways of welcoming new employees. At Technomics, we host a monthly New Hire Happy Hour which we like to switch up by hosting some in our beautiful office, already equipped with refreshments, a ping pong table, and good music, and other months, we like a change of scenery and host the event at a nearby establishment.
