Technomics Presents Cost Research at DoDCAS

Williamsburg, VA - Feburary 2011 - Six Technomics cost analysts presented the results of a three research projects at the 44th annual Department of Defense Cost Analysis Symposium (DoDCAS), held February 15-18, 2011 in Williamsburg, Va. The theme of the annual event was, Realizing Savings.

Rick Collins, CEO, and Brian Torgersen, cost analyst, presented, Competition in DoD Systems Acquisition: Past Lessons & Future Considerations, which was co-authored by Emily Beltramo and Mike Beltramo. The paper describes the result of a study performed for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) and examines the historical success (or lack thereof) of competition at improving acquisition outcomes for past programs from the late 1960s to 2000s.

William Laing and Brian Octeau, Technomics’ senior analysts, with Steve Miller, Cost Analysis and Program Evaluation, OSD, presented Comprehensive Assessment of Program Performance using Earned Value Management Data.

Scott DeNegre and Colleen Craig, Technomics’ analysts, presented EELV Discrete Event Simulation.
