Eight Employees Honored During the 3rd Quarter Celebration of Accomplishments and Milestones; Two Promotions Feted

Arlington, VA - January 2011 - Technomics, Inc. celebrated the accomplishments of its employees during the January 18, 2011, 3rd Quarter ’11 Celebration of Accomplishments and Milestones (CAM). Rick Collins, Technomics’ CEO, awarded two employees with Technical Excellence Awards and six employees with Making Technomics Great Awards.

Jeff Cherwonik was the first recipient of the award for Technical Excellence. He received the award because of a letter from the JLTV customer for Cherwonik’s “outstanding support to the JLTV team, “ according to Collins. The JLTV customer, Dave Holm, cited many instances of outstanding support including “deep dive reviews” which Holmes said created data that will not only, “serve as a solid foundation for developing cost estimates for the JLTV program in the EMD phase, but for any future tactical research, development, training and educational efforts.” Holm cited Cherwonik’s work on an Analysis of Alternatives study, which, despite roadblocks and user requirement changes, is “masterful.” Holm also complemented Cherwonik on helping mentor some of the 62 new employees by providing direction and guidance to them. Collins cited Cherwoniks’ dedication and professionalism as the reason for the award.

Lucas Still was recognized with a Technical Excellence award for his help with “process improvements,” according to Collins. Still initiated a web crawl that enables files to be downloaded quickly, which saved months of effort, and then he created a more user-friendly face to an interface to ensure ease of system use. It was estimated that this also saved months of effort by eliminating the need for weeks of manual data validation and correction at the end of the project. “Both of these improvements were implemented in less than two months and there have been requests to implement the same process on other projects. This is the best type of technical work – work that facilitates other jobs and helps us do things more efficiently in the future,” according to Collins.

Six employees received the Making Technomics Great Award.

The group that was recognized consisted of Michelle Petre, Ken Rhodes, Colleen Craig, Bob Jones, Bob Meyer and William Laing. They comprise the recruiting team. Collins recognized the team for its exemplary efforts in discovering some great candidates to fill the numerous entry-level positions that were open this year. So far, there have been nine acceptances; and several new analysts have already joined the company. Collins thanked everyone involved in the process and added that it was through “personal acts (such as theirs) that help make the company great.”

Angela Camp was awarded a Making Technomics Great Award for her teaching of a significant portion of a data module to her colleagues at the Technomics’ Training Institute (TTI). Collins reiterated that Camp’s involvement in the training was indicative of the TTI ideals “of, for and about the students, -- everyone has something to learn; everyone has something to teach.” Camp was recognized for her meticulous preparation and ability to convey the information in a manner that everyone found relatable. Collins said that this willingness to inspire their colleagues is a great example of Technomics’ ideals.

Boot camp survivors were recognized: Peter Braxton, Angela Camp, Joe Webster, Cabin Samuels, Megan Guild, Isaac Flamenco, April Lesho and Emily Beltramo.

A highlight of the event was the promotion of Charlotte McIntosh to mid-level data analyst and Anna Irvine to senior analyst.

McIntosh was recognized for her leadership training, acceptance of higher-level workload and her update of an entire training class. Mike Gallo said her positive professionalism is evident – she is active in SCEA, has completed several DAU courses and has been recognized with two CAM awards.

Irvine, was recognized for her promotion to senior analyst. She has, “jumped in to support various projects and has demonstrated superb knowledge and leadership,” according to Brian Bothwell. Irvine’s exemplary leadership, in addition to her extensive knowledge of cost analysis, are indicative of senior level analysts, according to Bothwell.
