Senior Technomics’ Analyst Gives Two Presentations at Department of Energy Conference
|
Santa Clara, CA - May 2010 Brian Octeau, Technomics senior analyst, presented twice at a recent Department of Energy (DOE) Conference in Santa Clara, CA. The conference, held May 19-20, 2010, was the first DOE Cost Analysis and Training Symposium (DoECATS).
Octeau presented The Process, Challenges and Status in Developing Standard Work Breakdown Structures and Historical Databases for the Department of Energy which walked through the process employed to date in developing standard Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and historical cost and technical databases for Department of Energy (DOE) projects. This presentation illustrated some of the challenges encountered as well as the current status and activities planned in the future.
Octeau’s second presentation was titled Pitfalls and Solutions for Analyzing Earned Value Management Data. This presentation illustrates typical issues found through analysis of Earned Value Management (EVM) data and proposed alternative analysis methods that address some of these shortcomings.
Octeau felt the conference was worthwhile and he said he was “honored to have the opportunity to share the information with others interested in DOE’s cost analysis efforts.”
