Nine Employees Honored During the 1st Quarter Celebration of Accomplishments and Milestones

Arlington, Virginia USA - July 15, 2010   Technomics, Inc. celebrated the accomplishments of its employees during the July, 15, 2010, 1st Quarter ’11 Celebration of Accomplishments and Milestones (CAM). Rick Collins, Technomics’ CEO, awarded nine employees with Technical Excellence Awards.

The first group of awardees to receive Technical Excellence Awards was recognized for work with the Defense Acquisition University (DAU). K. Cincotta, Jack Smuck, Mike Jeffers, Bob Jones and Paul Hardin were lauded for their efforts to improve BCF-302, Advanced Concepts in Cost Analysis.

Collins explained, “Cincotta, our project lead, is owed a tremendous debt of gratitude for impressing a demanding new client with his technical acumen and leadership skills. The team has delivered quality products and training support despite a challenging schedule that included instruction of a pilot offering of the class for DUA instructors and students. As a result of Cincotta's leadership and rapport with the client, the scope of Technomics effort has expanded significantly since project inception in January. We should all be proud that Technomics is in a position to positively influence the DoD cost analysis community by improving a class that all DoD cost analysts seeking DAWIA certification will eventually have to attend.”

The second group of Technical Excellence awardees have been significant contributors to a cost research effort for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE). The goal of this research is to develop insightful graphical views of earned value management (EVM) data that facilitate senior DoD management understanding of major defense program cost and schedule performance.

Colleen Craig, Richard Lee, Scott DeNegre and Jim York were recognized by Collins for their achievements which he characterized as , “creation of ground breaking views of EVM data that our client has labeled the “magical views.” We expect these views, which are the product of significant creative thought on the part of each awardee, to provide senior DoD weapons system acquisition officials insight into the past and more importantly future cost/schedule performance of acquisition contracts associated with major defense acquisition program (MDAP). Ideally, these views will provide decision makers with an early indication of potential contract performance problems. Collins closed by saying “ the team and their leader, William Laing, who received a Technical Excellence Award at the last CAM on May 4, 2010, should be extremely proud of their important accomplishments for a visible, demanding client.”. [Related Story]
