FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Technomics Recognizes Eight Employees during its 4th Quarter Celebration of Accomplishments and Milestones

Arlington VA - April 17, 2009  Technomics’ CEO Rick Collins presented eight employees with Technical Excellence Awards during the April 17, 2009 4th Quarter Celebration of Accomplishments and Milestones (CAM). The Technical Excellence Award is presented to employees who best exemplify Technomics’ Vision and Mission through significant technical contributions.

Paul Hardin, Bob Jones and Anna Irvine received the Technical Excellence award for their presentation at the 2009 DoDCAS Conference, February 18-20, which took place in Williamsburg, VA. Their topic, “Simple Parametric Model for Estimating Development (RDT&E) Cost for Large-Scale Systems” [2.18MB, PDF] drew extensive interest from the cost community for its ground breaking cost research. The three conducted follow-up presentations to Air Force Cost Analysis Agency (AFCAA), Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and National Security Agency (NSA).

Joe Caico and Chris Seat were recognized for their technical achievement in their evaluation of the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvements Program (SEWIP) follow-on contract proposals. In a letter of appreciation from L.E. Creevy, Major Program Manager, Above Water Sensors, it states, “Your guidance and leadership contributed to paving the way for a successful and expeditious awarding of the SEWIP follow-on Block 1 letter contract. Your team’s ability to quickly adapt to emergent and changing requirement have paved the pathway for a successful and expeditious award of this important contract.”

Michelle Petre and Travis Manning were recipients of the Technical Excellence award for their commendation by NAVSEA (PEO IWS 2) resulting from their work on the Nulka MK-53 DLS PLCCE. Manning worked on the Life Cycle Cost Estimate for the Nulka system and decoy. The analysis included two different learning curves calculated for the system and decoy as well as different system configurations by ship class. The program had a unique twist since it was a joint program with Australia and the U.S. which made quantities and prices more challenging.

Employees who are chosen for the Technical Excellence awards must contribute to the company’s Vision - "To raise community of practice standards through honest, innovative analysis that produces realistic answers, advances the state of-the-art and serves as a benchmark for excellence."

Or, employees must enhance the company’s Mission - "To facilitate informed decision-making and strive to ensure client success by providing trusted expertise, effective tools, and realistic, defensible quantitative analyses via a corporate environment devoted to integrity, trust, teamwork, innovation and fun."
