Each holiday season, Technomics participates in two very special events. The first of these events is the Annual Technomics Thanksgiving Food Drive, which we have done for 7 years! We collect non-perishable foods throughout November and donate the food collections to Food for Others, an organization that feeds over 400 families each week and distributes over 2.2 million pounds of free food. This year, Technomics employee-owners donated 975 pounds of food—nearly doubling the amount we donated the previous year!

Our second event of the holiday season was participating in the laying of wreaths for Wreaths Across America, an organization that strives to honor fallen veterans in a series of events, including placing wreaths on headstones at Arlington National Cemetery during the holiday season. Technomics has participated in both the wreath laying and clean-up events at Arlington National Cemetery over the past several years, and we continued the tradition this year by participating in the laying of the wreaths. Each year, Technomics matches all employee contributions and purchases a wreath for every wreath an employee purchases. This year, Technomics and our employee-owners donated over 100 wreaths, and Wreaths Across America was able to reach its fundraising goal of 245,000 wreaths. Although the weather wasn’t ideal, the event did have enough wreaths and volunteers to get every headstone covered. In addition to laying the wreaths at each headstone, volunteers are encouraged to say the name of the veteran while placing the wreath and give thanks for his or her service. It is a small way to ensure that the memory of the veteran is kept alive, especially during the holiday season.

Technomics and our employee-owners were extremely proud to contribute to these meaningful holiday events as well as other worthwhile community service events throughout 2016, including volunteering at the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation, and the Army Ten-Miler.
